The engineering work
Metal100 is an established multi-region marketplace for metal products and suppliers. Kitek provides ongoing engineering across its catalogue, calculations, buyer enquiries and supplier workflows. The work connects detailed product information with the practical steps a buyer takes to prepare a request.
Engineering work connects the calculator to the selected product's grade, dimensions, length and relevant weight data. Desktop and mobile calculation journeys retain that product context, so the calculation concerns the material the buyer is actually considering.
Calculated lines can become purchase-request drafts, carrying product details and quantities into the enquiry workflow. Excel-export work also lets the calculation table be used outside the portal, preserving its numeric values and product context.
Order and enquiry work records the contact details relevant to that particular request. Notifications and replies can then refer to the request's own contact information, even when the account profile is changed later.
Catalogue-maintenance tooling checks a complete import before saving it as a single operation. This gives editors feedback on invalid input before it is applied and avoids leaving a partly updated set of catalogue pages.
Work on regional sitemap generation moves that task into a tracked background process and prevents overlapping runs. It supports the continuing upkeep of catalogue discovery as regional pages and supplier content evolve.
Kitek's engagement combines maintenance of an existing marketplace with continued development. The engineering work spans the buyer's calculation and enquiry journey as well as the catalogue processes used to keep the portal current.
